Mixed emotions for Sunderland loanees
Elliot Embleton played over 80 minutes for Blackpool in what was his first appearance since leaving Sunderland on a half-season loan.
The 21-year-old teamed-up withtheSeasidersonDeadline Day and was thrown straight into the side by manager Neil Critchley, starting against Ipswich Town.
But it wasn't to be a dream debut for Embleton, as Blackpool suffered a 2-0 defeat in EastAnglia–asgoalsfromAlan Judge and Luke Woolfenden secured a vital victory for the Tractor Boys. Embleton did, however, rack-up some valuable game time as he featured for82minutesbeforebeingreplaced by Bez Lubala.
Sunderland’s other loanee in action, George Dobson, enjoyed a better afternoon as his AFC Wimbledon side ran-out 3-2winnersagainstWiganAthletic. Dobson played 90 minutesforthemanagerlessDons, who came out on top thanks to Joe Pigott’s brace and a strike from Jack Rudoni. Curtis Tilt and Jamie Proctor netted for the Latics.

Woodgate took over firstteam affairs following the departure of Jason Tindall and is third-favourite for the job on a permanent basis behind John Terry and Frank Lampard.
JackWilshere,ArnautDanjumaandPhilipBillingwereon target for the Cherries. Woodgate said: “My remit was to manage against Birmingham and that’s as far as it goes. I just wanted to get three points and it doesn’t matter how you get it. You can talk about philosophies and this and that forever but if you don’t get results, you’re not in the job.”
