While many of us long to get back to travelling, animal rides need to stay off the itinerary for good.

Holidaymakers might be unaware that rides cause animals tremendous suffering.

For camels used for the tourism trade, life bears no resemblance to a natural existence with these intelligent animals forced to carry tourists on their backs for hours.

Exhausted camels work in scorching heat, sometimes without adequate access to shade and water.

When the pandemic subsides and it’s safe to travel again, let’s remember to be kind – and avoid patronising establishments that exploit animals.
