Court round-up
The following cases from the Sunderland area were dealt with recently at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court.
Three-year ban
John Joseph Kilty, 48, of Leechmere Road, Grangetown, Sunderland, was placed on a community order, banned from driving for three years and ordered to pay a £95 victim surcharge and £85 costs. He admitted drinkdriving on November 15.
Drug-driving
Gavin Corr, 43, of Hartside Square, Nookside, Sunderland, was banned from driving for two years and ordered to pay a £120 fine and £85 costs. He admitted drugdriving on May 30, three counts of drug-driving on June 12 and driving without insurance.
Guilty plea
Gary James Appleby, 27, of Kirknewton Close, Houghton, was banned from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay a £120 fine, £34 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
He admitted drugdriving on July 22.
Driver banned
Caroline Norton, 48, whose address was listed in court as care of Wansbeck, Rickleton, Washington, was banned from driving for 18 months and ordered to pay a £120 fine, £34 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.
She admitted drinkdriving on December 23.
Criminal damage
Anthony Stevens, 35, of Penistone Road, Sunderland, admitted causing criminal damage to a window on July 12. He was ordered to pay £100 compensation.
Compensation order
Jevan George Doyle, 26, of Fordenbridge Road, Sunderland, admitted causing criminal damage to a Jeep on June 14.
He was ordered to pay £1,252.18 compensation and £300 costs.
Assault charge
Cavan Robert Conroy, 18, of Portland Road, Plains Farm, Sunderland, was placed on a community order and ordered to pay a £150 fine, £95 victim surcharge and £85 costs. He admitted causing criminal damage to a TV and DVD player and committing assault.
