Park landing for the air ambulance
An air ambulance landed in Barnes Park, Sunderland, following reports that a person had collapsed.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service has confirmed that it was called at 3.45pm to Barnes Park to assist someone who had suffered a ‘medical collapse’ in the area near Town End Farm.
A doctor and paramedic flew to the scene and worked alongside North East Ambulance Service to treat the patient at a private address.
One person was then taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital by road ambulance but their condition is not known.
A Great North Air Ambulance spokesman said: “We were called at 3.34pm to reports of a medical collapse in the area between Town End Farm and Downhill."
