Serving up the city’s favourite takeaway

Deliveroo is celebrating two years of delivering in Sunderland and East Durham by revealing the area’s most ordered dishes.

The delivery app has released some Sunderland and East Durham-specific stats which show that Friday at 8.36pm is the most popular time to order in.

Mackems can’t get enough of Middle Eastern dishes, with Chicken Kebab from Pizza Uno being the most popular dish.

The most popular dishes are:

::Masala from Harbour Tandoori in Seaham

::Boneless Bucket from Crown Chicken in Easington

::Mini Fillet Burger from Dixy Chicken Pallion

::Italian B.M.T from Subway

Since its launch in the area two years ago, more than 110 restaurants have signed up to the platform. Deliveroo has created work for more than 50 people, with the majority of these being the Deliveroo riders who deliver the food.

Around 60% percent of its restaurant partners are local independent restaurants.

Harison Foster, Regional Director for the UK said: “Our whole team here at Deliveroo are delighted that our rapid growth in Sunderland over the past two years means that customers have more choice, restaurants are able to increase their revenue, and riders have the opportunity to choose wellpaid, flexible work.”

Customers have the option to schedule orders via the Deliveroo app up to one day in advance or receive food as soon as possible.
