A total of 31 new coronavirus cases were confirmed across Sunderland (Sunday) and six people sadly died at the city’s NHS hospital trust after testing positive for Covid-19.

Gavin McGill: Why do we have to go through the same thing everytime the Echo shares the numbers. Covid may not be the cause of death but will have had a contributing factor in a person's death. My heart goes out to those who have lost love one's to this virus and I wish some people would have some respect.

Marion Jolliff: There will be a lot more yet.

Went to Morrisons Seaburn shopping on 21/2/21. The beach had quite, a few people on.

The promenade was really busy. Nobody was wearing a mask. Social distance could not be observed it was that busy. Not a policeman in sight to disperse the crowds. My heartfelt sorrow goes out to the family of these 6 people. I've been there I know how it feels. Losing a loved one my brother. It's devastating. People need to take better precautions when out and about

Cliff Ramsay Ftm:
