SUMMER SCHOOLS
Education Secretary Gavin Williamson has not ruled out lengthening school days or shortening summer breaks to help pupils in England catch up from coronavirus disruption. Ministers have ginve an extra £400 million to education and asked secondaries to deliver some summer teaching.
EARLY RESULTS
A-level and GCSE students will receive grades determined by their teachers earlier in August to give them more time to appeal, Gavin Williamson also announced. All pupils in England will be allowed to appeal their grades at no additional cost and can also sit exams in the autumn.

A golden egg made for a Cadbury’s treasure hunt in 1983 has sold at auction for £37,200. The chocolate firm commissioned 12 golden eggs which were then hidden across the UK.
