Be on guard
How I’ve missed going away on holiday; it seems like an age since my family and I
were able to fly to Spain to catch the sun and have a well-earned rest.
Now, though, there finally seems to be light at the end of the tunnel, what with the Government’s road map out of restrictions and the successful roll-out of our vaccination programme.
One thing bothers me though and it follows on from a phone call I had with a friend who was equally excited about the prospect of flying off on a holiday.
As well as a passport and insurance, won’t we need a certificate to prove we’ve been vaccinated against covid, he asked.
That got me thinking; when all this started, people were talking about how our lives could be governed by the need for health passports and the like.
I’m not sure I like the idea of having to prove I’ve had a jab, but if that’s the price we have to pay to holiday, then maybe I can live with it, but I think we should be on our guard against further controls!
