Detectives seek help after raid
Detectives are appealing for information after a robbery in Sunderland.
At about 5.50pm on February 14, officers were called to an address in Stratford Avenue in Grangetown following a report that three men had robbed an occupant in his home.
It was reported that one of the offenders – who were all wearing masks – and were in possession of weapons forced entry to the address and demanded money while the other two men stood outside. They all then made off in a red vehicle, described as either the shape of a Ford Focus, Vauxhall Corsa or VW Golf, with £600 cash and a mobile phone belonging to the resident.
The victim was uninjured but left shaken by the incident. An investigation was launched immediately after the robbery and officers are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
It is believed that the offenders drove away in the direction of Matanzas Street. Anyone with information is asked to contact police via the “Tell Us Something” page of our website or alternatively by calling 101 quoting log 676 140221.
