Let it sink in

-

There is something truly obscene about the government putting out a self-congratulatory propaganda piece about the vaccine, on the back of such tragedy.

This, I'm afraid, only shows Boris Johnson and his government have nothing but contempt for the people of this country.

Any decent person would feel at least some shame at the approaching 130,000 deaths, but there's none of these words in this government's lexicon.

At the same time the government are closing all of the Nightingale Hospitals; a £532 million PR stunt to make it look like the government was doing something, only highlighting the fact that 10 years’ of Tory austerity had cut nursing staff so much in the NHS, that even when you put more beds in place there were no staff to look after patients.

Not satisfied with that, Boris Johnson has gone back on his manifesto promise again and said he is giving the nurses an insulting 1% pay rise.

With inflation running around 2% this is essentially a pay cut.

It’s all about priorities. If Boris Johnson gave the 669,000 nurses in the UK a £1,000 per annum pay rise from the £37billion spent on the failed track and trace system, there would still have been change of £36,331,000,000 - staggering.

At a time when we have Marcus Rashford feeding hungry children, Boris Johnson has started a charity to get his house done up.

For all those who still think Boris Johnson cares about anyone but himself and is doing his best, just let that sink in.
