‘Harry Potter would have better tactics than Bruce’

-

Newcastle United's relegation fears deepened after a woeful defeat at rivals Brighton & Hove Albion – with fans demanding Steve Bruce is sacked.

Bruce is under intense pressure from an angry fanbase after a shocking performance in the 3-0 loss on the south coast on Saturday night.

Fourth-bottom Newcastle are now four points adrift of Brighton, with the last relegation spot looking increasingly like it will be between Fulham and Newcastle.

And fans were quick to have their say on social media...

Shaun Guillan tweeted: “If Steve Bruce tries to blame the entire result on Hayden's injury I will scream a shriek so piercingly loud that windows will bleed #NUFC #BruceOut”

Jo Norkett tweeted: “Actually thought we might have won this game! Surely Bruce has to go now! Get him out of my club!!”

John Miley tweeted: “Brighton could have had Harry Potter as manager tonight and he would still have had better tactics than Bruce.”

David Harding tweeted: “Bruce has to go along with his back room team and Jones, this is embarrassing #nufc”

Steven tweeted: “I had a feeling we would get beat because Brighton are a better team than us. Gutted and we’ve got some tough fixtures coming up #NUFC”

Peter Coates tweeted: “Another one of those days where I'm very grateful my cable package wasn't showing the #NUFC game. Utterly pathetic”

Dan Birkett tweeted: “By far the worst performance of the season. The lack of effort is awful by all. #BruceOut”
