Eating a rasher of bacon per day could be associated with a rise in the risk of developing dementia, a new study has suggested. Researchers found consuming a 25g serving of processed meat (roughly equivalent to a rasher of bacon) had been associated with a 44 per cent risk of dementia. The study is believed to be the first of its kind to find a link between a specific type and amount of meat, and the risk of developing dementia.

Beverley Bird: OMG, they will be telling us that breathing is detrimental to our health next. I believe in a little bit of what you like, when you like, won't harm you. Enjoy life as we don't know what's round the corner.

Mavis Hardman:

Can't believe it to be true my father had egg bacon and tomatoes for breakfast all his life was 90 when he died without dementia.

Diane Bell: You’ve just took the last scrap of happy and stamped all over it. Thanks for that.

Eddie Merry: Great I'll have 3 rashers a day then!

Darren Kerby: I'll be fine, then, as I always have 4 rashers on my sandwich!

Wayne Goodwin: Glad I eat a ham sandwich every day now

Tony Green: Can’t remember having a rasher yesterday so I’ll have 2 today in a buttie.
