LEE BURGE

Little he could do with Dembele’s goal and was otherwise again a very good performer for Sunderland. 7

MAX POWER

Caught out of position once or twice but generally came through the contest well. 6

DION SANDERSON

Showed an excellent turn of pace at times on an often difficult afternoon in challenging conditions. 7

LUKE O’NIEN

Almost allowed Clarke-Harris to score a crucial goal in the second half but was otherwise excellent. 7

CALLUM MCFADZEAN

Peteborough targeted the left flank through the second half and got their opening goal down that side. 4

JORDAN JONES

Looked a real threat through the opening half an hour, didn’t make much of an impact on the second. 6

CARL WINCHESTER

Started brightly and was tidy in possession throughout. Replaced late on. 6

GRANT LEADBITTER

Controlled the tempo of the game entirely as Sunderland made an excellent start to the game. 6

AIDEN MCGEADY

Wasn’t always able to get into the game on a poor pitch but found a way to make a crucial contribution with a stunning free-kick. 7

ROSS STEWART

Plenty of industry and won the ball back in dangerous areas at times but on the whole wasn’t able to make much of a significant impact. 5

CHARLIE WYKE

Battled tenaciously and won a number of aerial balls for his team. Not a great deal in terms of sight on goal but put in a good display. 6
