STORY:

Mobile phones to be banned in schools as part of the Government’s drive against “out of control” behaviour. Do you think pupils should be prevented from taking phones to school?

Eileen Cassley: Yes definitely shouldn't be allowed, children should know how to keep themselves safe. Kelly A Howe Burgess: I would prefer my son to have his walking 50 mins to and from school tries to keep himself safe but not always possible.

Eileen Cassley: I totally agree when they have to walk and on their own. I meant not to be used in the classrooms. Give them the phones back at hometime as not necessary in school yard. It's always a worry and hard keeping them safe.

Emma Tonner: My boys have high functioning autism, I like to call them on their way home to make sure their OK, not all kids are the same.

Zara Mckenna:

Mine was on silent and in bag when mobiles came out. Kids should take there mobiles with them but be sensible and put them away in a bag or if you have a locker. It’s handy if they really need it. But if some kids don't listen well they should be given to a teacher then back to students once lesson Is done.

Eileen Cassley: I totally agree if they had lockers or given them back after school, as I understand not all children live near their homes and have different abilities.

Fred Hood: Totally agree they should be banned from schools and from workplaces unless of course u need it for your job!

Margo Lax: When I went to school we had no phones. Count how many emergencies have happened in the past school term. Our teachers were responsible for our safety. However... at present time my grandchildren have to turn their phones off from 9am. The seniors only allowed to use their phones at lunchtime. Younger pupils only allowed to switch in their phones at home time.

Trevor Kent: The schools should be left to manage how they see fit. Making comments about kid’s behaviour is a smack in the face for parents who’ve home schooled for the past year.
