STORY:

Would you send your child to a two-week summer school if they are invited?

Rachel Bell: A lot of people would, at the end of year 6 quite a few of us attended the EAZ/Gifted & talented summer school, and that was way back so I'd imagine they've been happening since then too.

Kelly Adamson: Yes, there is loads they have missed out on.

Gary Butler: Yes, specially if there were plenty of social/sports activities mixed with the learning.

Sarah Fairclough:

My daughter I would as she starts high school in September so would enable her to go and have a look round and settle in as she's unable to do that now due to restrictions, my son, however, wouldn't cope.

Alex Harker: Yes, missed a lot, need any extra time they can get to catch up.

Rachel Stobbs:

Absolutely not, mine have been there throughout lockdown anyway.

Donna Weiss: Not unless they wanted too, that's their choice to make not mine.

Cat Standing: Yes! Not that my child is behind but what harm will two weeks of extra school do?

Courtney Gardner:

Personally yes I would if it was offered in primary schools. Especially having a child that already has educational/speech delays that were knocked even further back by not receiving help via the correct professionals during the first look down, I definitely would send them.

Kelly Burgess: Depends what the schools are offering we have a 13 year old who has done all of his school work during lockdown but missed out on socialising with his mates, if school offered fun activities for him, no school work, yes I would.

Katie Lawton: Yes with my eldest, he starts high school and it will give him the opportunity to meet/ make friends, get to know teachers and school.

Kaye Broadbent: Absolutely not.

Mark Harvey: Yes.
