Where did you go on your first night out?

Paul Hogdson:

My first nights out were on Southwick Green, you didn't have to go to town, there was that many pubs, and the club.

Sally McGrath: Black Bull/Beehive/Fusion, actually walked back to Washington afterwards.

Caroline Wilkinson: The Ivy House, The Blandford (upstairs), KU Club.

Suzanne Tibbo: Annabels above Burtons in Sunderland when I was 16.

Billy Luke: Original Bay Hotel, Seaburn upstairs disco 1960's.

17, only places I could get in without getting asked for ID.

Libertys then down to Bentleys. First night in the town and being from Peterlee and not really knowing where everything was we tried to get a taxi to Bentleys from Libertys!

David Metcalfe: Bentleys, Chambers, Blue Monkey and Ku Club. Used to do a club crawl.

Doreen Scott: The Upper Deck then the Mecca.

Yids Barker: Locally Jolly Potters, town Brewery Tap, Scotch House and Old 29, night clubs Fusion, Annabels, Mecca.

Dave Avery: Thorney Close club, then on to the town. Brilliant times.

Nina Rooney: City Tavern for fishbowls, then Boulevard, Undergroun­d, Idols, Pzazz.

Alison Lothian: Fusion and the Bay Hotel.

Lorna Button: The Rink (or more formally The Top Rank Suite in Park Lane). Saturday mornings first with DJs Tommy Shaw and John (forgot his surname) then Tuesday nights there as 16yrs old + teenagers.

Trevor Maddison: Annabels, Zhivagos, The Mecca and The Bay. Didn't need anywhere else.

Sam Neil: The original Blue Monkey and Chambers
