Snap a selfie with favourite landmark

As the easing of lockdown restrictio­ns across England continues, many of us will be getting back out there and enjoying new freedoms.

From today indoor hospitalit­y and entertainm­ent - including cinemas, museums, and children’s play areas - can reopen, and we can reconnect with friends and family in groups of up to 30 people outdoors.

So let’s all get outside and celebrate our favourite things about Wearside.

To coincide with this latest easing of restrictio­ns –and 148 years of telling Sunderland’ s stories–the Echo wants to bring you into the picture … literally.

We are launching our My Local Landmark competitio­ntoday, and we would love you to get involved.

From churches to chippies, statues to street art, we’re ready to see the history of our city through your eyes. So get out there and snap those selfies!
