No apologies for Brexit?

- Arthur Oxley. Sent via email.

For four years after the referendum to leave the E.U., as a remain voter, I have been subject to insults, ridicule and even threats because I believed we had made the biggest political error since joining the First World War.

Now that we know, or any sensible person does, that leaving is a disaster why are there no apologies? Apologies we deserve.

Apologies from those who misled us, cajoled and totally disrespected any view that was not anti-E.U.

Things have gone dramatically wrong, anyone with any common sense can see it is so.

I am not going to list all that is obviously and openly against what the referendum was supposed to solve.

Any person reading sensible opinion or news knows what they are.

Why has no one from the Brexit campaign as yet apologised for what has been foisted upon us by a referendum result.

Foisted upon by the “Oven Ready Deal” that never existed and has upset all except the die-hards on the extreme right of all political parties.

They know, from Boris down over, that they have made this country weaker, ridiculed and likened to any third world bit player.

The Labour Party, who I am committed to, is ignoring the debate that we really have made a mistake and really must work to repair the damage.

We cannot change the referendum result, nor would I now want to, but there must be a way that everyone who voted is given a say, or opinion listened to.

We are a country divided, ignoring half of the population is not going to mend that split.

We’ve had a bad year, let’s make the next one better.
