LEE BURGE
Made an excellent penalty save from Jorge Grant to keep his side in the game. 6
LYNDEN GOOCH
Plenty of energy and gave good support to his forward players through the first half. Tired in the second. 6
BAILEY WRIGHT
Really strong in the first half, stepping in well to snuff out any danger and get his side going. Tired considerably through the second half. 6
LUKE O’NIEN
Brought the ball out for his team well and that was a key part of the improved display in the first-half performance. An all-action display. 7
CALLUM MCFADZEAN
Got forward fairly well, just lacked a bit of conviction at times in his play. Defensively steadily enough . 6
CHRIS MAGUIRE
Pressed well and rarely gave possession up. Went fairly close with an ambitious effort at the start of the second half. 6
JOSH SCOWEN
Played well in midfield, important in the first half in the way he backed up the press and moved the ball on quickly when he got it. Not quite as effective in the second half as Lincoln found some composure in midfield. 7
GRANT LEADBITTER
Really composed in the first half, responding well to counter-attacking threats and keeping the play moving. A cruel end to his campaign. 7
AIDEN MCGEADY
Terrific quality in the first half, underlining his importance to the side over the course of the season. Didn’t get enough service in the second half as Sunderland laboured and went too long, too often. 8
ROSS STEWART
Took his goal well and was simply excellent right across the first half. Pressed well, won his aerial duels and should have had a penalty when Palmer brought him down just before the break. 8
CHARLIE WYKE
Responded well to his early miss with a fine goal, but let another opportunity in the second half pass him by. Pressed well and was committed throughout. 7
