Search is on for wedding planners for TV show

-

The team behind a new TV programme is on the search for engaged couples and wedding planners in Sunderland.

BBC Studios is looking to launch a new competition-based series showcasing the extraordinary talent of wedding planners – who will be tasked with making the dreams of deserving couples come true.

The show – which has a working title of Master of Ceremonies – will see the planners from across the country compete for a “money-can’t-buy prize and the opportunity to take their careers to the next level”.

Outlining the show, a spokesperson said: “BBC Studios want to shine the spotlight on the backbone of the industry who against the odds help to make the dreams of couples come true.

“A selection of event planners, will be tasked with pulling off the dreams of some of Britain’s most deserving couples, producing precious memories which will last a lifetime.

"Each week they will be provided with a specific brief and budget to deliver an unforgettable masterpiece, whilst being judged by industry-leading judges and the couples themselves.”

The series also aims to give audiences some insight into the “remarkable skillset” needed to plan a wedding.

Both planners and engaged couples – set to tie the knot between August and October this year – are being sought to take part.

Planners are asked to email planners@bbc.co.uk, while couples should contact weddings@bbc.co.uk.

Applicants must be 18 or over and UK residents. For further details on how your information will be used for the programme, visit this section of the BBC website.
