Positivity not negativity

-

There has been inquests, discussions, and anger, after we failed to beat Lincoln in the play off semi finals.

Whilst I believe much has to be changed to our squad, and much better players signed, skilful, and competent players, who can come into the side, and hit the ground running, we need players who can add pace to the side.

That is something that we have been suffering from for a long time now.

Manager, Lee Johnson, implemented a high pressing game when he first arrived; it did work to a certain degree, but we really didn't have the midfielder fast enough to make it work.

So I just hope our scouts can find the right players, those who have pace!

We definitely need to sign another two forwards, who have scored at least 20 goals a season, also attacking midfielders, who have pace, and goals in them.

Regarding defence, we need to sign a couple of centre halves, who have more than proved themselves for previous clubs; big strong centre halves, who won't stand for any dirty play against them – your "Vinny Jones" type of player, who "doesn't take any prisoners!"

We have to get tough in this league!

Too many times we have wimped out of games, giving teams easy goals to score; messing about, and gifting forwards goals every game.

Lincoln's goal last Saturday, was shocking defending; their forward must have thought it was an early "Christmas present” gift wrapped.

Too many times this has happened in most games. Lee Johnson must drill them every week in the art of defending; they have to treat that penalty box, as if it was a "war zone!", when that ball enters that war zone, you treat the ball as if it were a "bomb" – you must get rid of it at all costs; you don't start messing about as if it is a walk in the park!

I still believe that Lee Johnson is the manager to do the job, and win promotion.

In five months, he won us the EFL Trophy, our first trophy in 48 years at Wembley.

He picked up a side that was stuck in mid-table, going nowhere; he got us into the play offs and rebuilt their confidence, and we went on a 14-game unbeaten run, but fell short at the final post.

I believe he will find the right players, who will improve our present squad.

Lee Johnson, and our new owner will work night and day to rebuild our club so that I believe next season will be a success!

We have the best fans in the land; let's pack that stadium out, and roar them onto promotion – get behind our team, and they will bring that success we all deserve!

I believe in positivity not negativity; let's do it this time!
