Where is your favourite place for fish and chips in Sunderland?
Hilary Whitton:
We always went to the fish and chip shop in Seaburn. It was over the road from the children's swings. Delicious!
Louise Sloan: Fountains at Carley Hill, best fish and chips, lovely friendly staff and not over priced.
Iris Carr: Tommy’s Doxford Park, the size of the fish is unbelievable and great value for money, I’d recommend them to anyone.
Gary Hassan: The Hut, Silksworth, amazing food served by genuine lovely staff.
Janet Nixon: Definitely Angel's in the town, if you haven't had them you should try them, best I have had, brilliant.
Mandi Lisa: The one near old Roker Park, curried batter buns, loved their chips and curry sauce.
Sacha Nicholson:
Fountains - superb fish and chips, friendly staff and not overpriced.
Tom O’Brien Snr:
Definitely Croziers (I used to live next door to it when I was little).
Samantha Neal: Tommy’s Doxford Park, fish melts in your mouth, best we’ve found in Sunderland, moved up two years ago from Northampton.
Wendy Malt:
Downeys at the Barnes. My absolute
favourite.
Peter Morris: Croziers are lovely, used to call before going to the match, fish was always cooked beautifully, and the corned beef patties were great.
Colleen Leach: Queens cafe at Seaburn, best by far.
Martin Kelly: Young's Traditional Fish & Chips on Villette Road. Always delicious.
Lisa Bell: Only place I would get them from in Sunderland is The Bay.
Connie Robinson: Pier fish and chips on sea front.
Marie Harper: I Fry, but if down the beach then has to be Queen's hands down.
Anthony Gordon: Fountains Carley Hill. Extra Large. for me.
Ian Oliver: Now fountains amazing. In past no fish shop old or new could touch Dennis Evan's s Thorney Close.
David Rae: Not in Sunderland but silver grid in Houghton takes some beating.
Natalie Gorman: Kullars in Houghton-le-Spring.
Rachael Rutherford: Queens Cafe in Seaburn.
Lauren Kenny: Castle Fry Downeys close second.
Karen Murley: Tommy's at Doxford Park.
Julie Foot: Fountains.
