Dates and venues for new concert version of hit film

-

Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story will be presented live in concert for the first time in the UK with a nationwide tour next year.

Toy Story in Concert will feature a screening of the groundbreaking complete film with Oscar® and Grammy®-winning composer Randy Newman’s musical score performed live to the film.

The Toy Story films are beloved worldwide for their compelling characters, extraordinary storytelling, stunning visuals and the music of Randy Newman.

The composer and songwriter is behind signature songs including You’ve Got a Friend in Me, Strange Things and I Will Go Sailing No More.

Ever wonder what toys do when people aren’t around? Toy Story answers that question with a fantastic funfilled journey, viewed mostly through the eyes of two rival toys – Woody, the lanky, likable cowboy, and Buzz Lightyear, the fearless space ranger.

Other toys include The other toys Rex the tyrannosaur, Mr Potato Head, Hamm the piggy bank, Slinky Dog, Bo Peep the porcelain doll, RC the radio-controlled car, Etch the Etch-a-Sketch, and Lenny the binoculars.

Led by Woody, Andy’s toys live happily in his room until Andy’s birthday brings Buzz Lightyear on to the scene.

Buzz, being flashier and higher-tech than anyone else, soon wins the other toys’ respect and becomes Andy’s new favorite, much to Woody’s jealousy.

Many days later, Andy’s family goes to Pizza Planet for dinner, and Andy is allowed to bring along only one toy. Wanting to make sure Andy chooses him and not Buzz, Woody tries to use RC to knock Buzz behind the desk, but accidentally knocks Buzz out the top story window. Woody tries to explain to the other toys it was an accident, but most of them condemn Woody’s jealousy and attempt to lynch him for “murder”.

Andy arrives and takes Woody to Pizza Planet. Buzz, still alive, stows away in the

car, and confronts Woody when the car stops at a gas station. The two fight, fall out of the car, and are left behind. After a further argument, the two hitch a ride on a Pizza Planet delivery truck and sneak into the restaurant. Buzz mistakes a claw crane full of alien toys for a rocket, and Woody has to climb in after him. The two are spotted and captured by Andy’s sadistic next-door neighbor Sid.

Buzz sees a TV commercial that reveals he is indeed a toy. In denial, he attempts to fly, but breaks.

When circumstances separate Buzz and Woody from their owner, the comicallymismatched duo eventually learn to put aside their differences, and they find themselves on a hilarious adventure-filled mission where the only way they can survive is to form an uneasy alliance.

In the films Woody is

voiced by Tom Hanks, Buzz Lightyear by Tim Allen and Andy by John Morris.
