STORY

Bringing back Stadium of Light gigs has been hailed a 'huge boost to the city' – but who would you like to see perform?

Janice Hall: Why not go in a different direction by staging something more upmarket like a concert from classical or Musical Theatre artists. Good way of opening up the the city to a whole new audience.

Vivien Johnson: Went to all Take That concerts, which were spectacular. Unfortunately can’t say that about Rihanna who mimed most of the time, and Beyoncé kept us waiting 30 minutes before she appeared on stage, and the sound quality was terrible. One Direction and other smaller concerts were good!

Stuart Wilson: Duran Duran and Tears For Fears, both should hopefully be touring next year with new albums in tow.

Tracey Thompson: Foo Fighters or Muse.

Robert Austin: Biffy Clyro, Iron Maiden, Arctic Monkeys, Manic Street Preachers, Kasabian, Editors, Chemical Brothers, Noel Gallagher, Pet Shop Boys, Ozzy, Queen and Adam Lambert.

Alastair Stuart: I may be a music snob but anything that generates income and is popular should be encouraged.

Cathryn Dickinson: Pink, Elton John, Queen and Adam Lambert.

Kathryn Murphy: AC/ DC and Queen feat Adam Lambert.

Sarah Collins: Pink! She was brilliant the last time she was there.

Mick Tufton: Foo Fighters – Coldplay – maybe a dance act ie Fatboy Slim / Calvin Harris etc.

Darren Dobson: Fleetwood Mac, U2, Neil Young.

Jade Oxlade: Red Hot Chilli Peppers again, Artic Monkeys.

Andy Grieveson: Muse would kill at the SOL. Went to Manchester City ground a few years back, they have no idea how to do a concert like the SOL.

Tracey Collins: Don't think they come up here but I'd love Depeche Mode, awesome band.

Barby Lambton: The Cure.

Andrea Taggart: Killers, Coldplay.

Kate Austin: The Script, Take That, Coldplay, Duran Duran, Pink, Westlife.

Caroline Taylor: Biffy Clyro, Miley Cyrus, Dua Lipa, or Royal Blood would be good.

Joy Gibson Hetherington: Whitesnake and Foreigner to make up for last year's cancellation.

Paul Kerry: Oasis, Miguel, Calvin Harris, Harry Styles, Simple Minds.

Dave Ramshaw: Rolling Stones.
