Who will win clash of the Auld Enemy?

-

It’s the day football fans on both sides of the border have been waiting for ever since the draw for the European Championships was made.

England versus Scotland. The Auld Enemy lining up to face each other at Wembley Stadium.

The pair have been involved in many memorable clashes down the years and the excitement has been building all week ahead of tonight’s fixture.

We’ve even had Yellow the psychic pony forecasting the result ahead of this evening’s eagerly awaited showdown.

England go into the game buoyed by victory against Croatia and knowing that another win would see them well placed to move into the last 16.

For Scotland, the need for points is clear after their own campaign began in disappointing fashion with a defeat against the Czech Republic.

Wearside’s very own Jordan Pickford was relatively untroubled in the England goal against Croatia and there’s no doubt he’d be delighted with another clean sheet tonight. Our other Jordan, Three Lions skipper Henderson, will be desperate to get back in the thick of the action, having watched the opening match from the subs bench after a season hampered by injury.

The very best of luck to both lads tonight as they continue their bid to win the tournament and keep the dream of ‘football coming home’ alive.

And to all those heading out to watch the game: We hope you enjoy yourself but please remember to celebrate sensibly and in line with the ongoing health guidelines. That’s a result we could all do with.
