Specialist company set to take on 100 workers

A specialist clothing manufactur­er has recruited an extra 100 staff as the pandemic drives up business.

Workwear Express, which is based on the Belmont Industrial Estate, in Durham, has been recruiting on the back of a record year after partnering with St John Ambulance and Royal Voluntary Service to kit out COVID-19 vaccinator­s and volunteers.

The personalis­ed clothing and workwear fierm has seen a 30% increase in sales in the last 12 months and the firm is expanding its 300-strongteam to meet rising demand.

Among the new staff are many from the hard hit leisure and hospitalit­y sector – whose customer service skills turned out to be a good fit for Workwear Express.
