New arrival at Molineux could spell Dion return

-

Bruno Lage has made his first signing as Wolves head coach – and it’s an addition which could have repercussions for former Sunderland loan star Dion Sanderson.

The Premier League side have decided to recruit 20-year-old Colombian defender Yerson Mosquera, who has signed a five-year deal at Molineux.

Mosquera is set to become part of Wolves’ first-team squad for the 2021/22 campaign, further increasing the club’s options at centre back.

And the signing has only added further fuel to rumours that Sanderson–who is attracting interest from Sunderland and a host of Championship sides–could be allowed to leave the Midlands this summer.

Sheffield United have also been heavily linked with the centre back, who will now have to force his way past Mosque ra, Con or Co a dy, WillyBoly, Romain Saiss and Max Kilman to force his way into the Wolves first-team.

Sunderland, meanwhile, are one of the clubs to have been linked with striker Guy Melamed this summer.

The Israeli frontman enjoyed a fine season at St Johnstone and is now a free agent -with reports linking the Black Cats, Portsmouth and Ipswich Town to summer moves for the 28-year-old.

Melamed was offered fresh terms with the Scottish club but boss Call um Davidson said last week that the club would ‘move on’ from the striker.

However, in a fresh twist, Davidson has now confirmed that the contract offer remains on the table for Melamed.

Speaking to the Daily Record, he said :“Right now the offer is still there if Guy changes his mind and decides he wants to play for us next season. Things can change quickly.”
