Visiting suspended at Sunderland hospital as Covid patient numbers jump from two to 80 in a month.

Lynn Ward: Why don’t people just use their common sense, cos our government certainly haven’t got any. It’s mostly younger people who are being admitted, and those with no vaccination or only one. I’m still going to adhere to whatever I was doing before. Oh the joys of this whole thing.

Elaine Johnson: I would like to know if they were admitted due to Covid or have tested positive for Covid when in for something else.

Paula Hutchinson:

Look at Australia and New Zealand they’re in lockdown again with surging cases all prevention methods certainly working there. People need to take responsibility for their actions.

Sean Meyers: I’m reluctant to believe anything the media tells us, seems their only motivation is scaremongering rather than actually informing.

Neal Hedley: But we’ve still got people coming into this country illegally while we are trying to deal with this virus and they are being re located all over the country,we’ve got no chance, it isn’t helping our situation.

Bob Simpson: The North East could be in lockdown by the end of August. For the simple fact people in the north east won't listen to government guidelines, they are all self self self.

Gary Duncan: Some people haven’t had the vaccine. Lots of people have only had half the vaccine. Some people don’t respond well to the vaccine due to other illness/medication.

This is where the bulk of hospitalisations will come from. It’s not rocket science. We still need restrictions. Thankfully the hospitals are keeping all restrictions in place.

Margaret Lash: We can't be locked down forever people need to be sensible and continue to wash hands regularly and where masks where required. If people still aren't happy then they can isolate until they feel happy to come out.

Jeff Anderson: It's not hard to believe what this so called Govt is doing to its own people, as they say "learn to live with it.”
