Something else... Relive American dream with these great burger kits

-

There’s nowhere in the world that do burgers quite like the good old US of A, writes Daniel Bailey. Transatlantic flights are off the radar for holidaymakers this year, but lovers of the American staple don’t really need to jet off anywhere for their ‘top quality’ burger fix. Here, we try out three of the best DIY burger kits on offer, all of which can be delivered anywhere in the UK:

RUDY’S (VEGAN)

Who said a burger without meat can’t be dirty? Well it certainly can and all from the comfort of your own home thanks to Rudy’s ‘Dirty Burger’. You will need plenty of napkins for this one as the plant-based buns are packed with goodies including Rudy’s original vegan patties, ‘cheeze’ slices, pickles, caramelised onions, ‘baycon’ rashers and Rudy’s very-own secret burger sauce. If you were blind-tasting, you would never know that it was vegan. And at £36 for four people, it’s very reasonably priced. Delicious! Website: rudysvegan.com

LIBERTINE (MEAT)

‘Epic’ is one word to describe these beauties from Leamington Spa-based Libertine Burger. Mouthwateringly tasty, juicy and full of wonderful flavours, this DIY kit is a snip at £25 for four. And it’s worth noting that Libertine’s renowned patties are made using their own blend of chuck, brisket and flank from Aberdeenshire cattle, dry-aged for a minimum of 28 days. I’d recommend adding a side order of their beautifully-moreish ‘Dirty Tater Tots’. Believe me, you

won’t be disappointed. Website: libertineburger.com

RESTAURANT KITS (SOMETHING DIFFERENT)

For something a little out of the ordinary, my pick has to be the amazing Ribinator from Restaurant Kits, expertly created by Flank London’s Tom Griffiths. Using incredible layers of succulent rib meat, The Ribinator is described as the meat machine to re-shape the future and change the past. This kit is super easy to prepare, costs £25 and comes with an ‘advanced’ BBQ sauce, ‘T100’ Crispy Onions and ‘Cybernetic’ Liquid Ketchup, all served in a finger Brioche Bun ‘Exoskeleton’.
