More comments on plans for major housing development on dated Civic Centre move step forward.

Gerard Joseph: Brilliant.

Nikkie JD: Stop building houses, I can understand families need a roof but what about our next generation? Do something for the children for once instead of lining your own pockets.

Peter Kirby: Great news if it comes off, firstly getting rid of the crumbling monstrosity replacing it with housing within reach of the city to breath life back into it. Secondly the plans mean that 275 house will be built that is 275 houses not built on greenbelt land. It's movement in the right direction if it comes off and not held back for years.

Adele Hayley: Build us a new leisure centre!! There’s no decent shops, very little fun for children and families, just pubs, hotels and food? Ridiculous, we have plenty abandoned buildings that could be used for better purposes like this.

Steven Spoors: It was 'dated' five mins after the last brick was laid. Should

never have been built.

George White: What a waste of an opportunity, more housing, great place to build a new Leisure centre right next to the bus station and metro.

David Henry: Yeyyyy, more housing that the average joe will be priced out of. Brilliant idea. Well done.

Betty Cotton: Affordable housing is needed desperately and having the park area would be good for families to live there.

Diana Lambton: Leave it as an extended green area to compliment the park opposite where families can have picnics etc.

Alison Bilton: All the councils are after new buildings that are either out dated or need a lot of repairs but what about the houses and buildings that they own that need the same doing.

Steven Dixon: They hardly own any housing at the moment. They’ve only recently just back into council housing.

Anne Butcher: More houses??
