Stay in the know with free police messaging

-

Police in County Durham are calling on people to sign up to free messaging service which provides details on what is going on in their local area.

Durham Constabulary’s Keep in the Know email alert system gives weekly updates from neighbourhood police teams, witness appeals, crime prevention advice and details of scams people need to be aware of.

It also allows the option to provide feedback and send messages.

Temp chief inspector Andy Reeves said: “Keeping our residents up-to-date and informed about what is happening in their areas is vital.

“Keep in the Know allows people to receive the relevant news important to them and not something that is happening elsewhere in the county that may not be of interest.

“We have had great feedback on the service by those who are signed up and we would encourage others to join them.”

Durham Police and Crime Commissioner Joy Allen said: “Keep In The Know is a fantastic system to keep up-to-date with what is going on in your neighbourhood. Residents across County Durham and Darlington can receive regular updates on news that’s most relevant for them.

“I would encourage anyone to sign up and keep informed with local policing, community initiatives and witness appeals for your area. There is even an option to registeryour home CCTV system including doorbell cameras which can assist police in investigating crime.”
