‘Standards have been set, so we must continue them’, admits Crumbie

-

Boldon CA manager David Crumbie has urged his players to move on from Saturday’s remarkable win against Durham City.

A 10-0 win over the Citizens helped Boldon celebrate their first home game as a Northern League club in a memorable fashion.

All focus now turns towards tonight’s home game as Crumbie’s men look to end their first week in Division Two with an unbeaten record when Esh Winning visit the Villa.

The Boldon boss is preparing his squad for a tough challenge against an Esh side.

“We know every game in the Northern League will be tough and Saturday’s result does not change that.

“We have enjoyed Saturday,

but it is a distant memory now, the standard has been set and we have to reach that quality and workrate to continue building on the solid start we have made.

“Esh have not started well but we know it will be difficult, so we will have to stick to our principles and work hard. The standards have been set, so we have to continue meeting them or even going beyond them.”

Elsewhere tonight in Division Two, Sunderland West End will look to build on their impressive home win at Easington Colliery when they travel to Carlisle City and Jarrow are targeting a first win of the season when they visit Carlisle City.

In Division One, Consett will hope to continue their perfect record so far this season when they host West Allotment Celtic.

Two sides that suffered FA Cup exits at the weekend meet at Bedford Terrace as Billingham Town host Bishop Auckland and Newton Aycliffe entertain Newcastle Benfield at Moore Lane.

Whitley Bay face a difficult challenge as they look to reach the FA Cup preliminary round as they travel to

North Ferriby for a replay tonight.

The two sides could not be separated at Hillheads on Saturday as Bay winger Jason Chanayire cancelled out an opener from Danny East.

The two sides meet at the Villagers Dransfield Stadium home with the winners rewarded with an away tie at West Allotment in the next round.
