We’ve lost credibility

-

The latest report from the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has alerted us once more to the precarious situation we all now face.

Germany and wildfires in Canada, California and now in Greece are further reminders that action is needed immediately.

At the Echo, we’ve always been proud to be part of the fabric of this great city.

go-ahead for new oil and gas licences in the North Sea, and when the flagship green homes grant scheme has been abandoned, the Prime Minister's COP26 spokesperson tells us not to rinse our dishes before putting them in the dishwasher.

Sadly, we have lost all credibility.

We have become a laughing-stock, but this is not a joke, it is a tragedy.
