Serengeti II BBC Two, Sunday, 5.35pm

Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong’o takes over narrating duties from John Boyega for the second run of this superb series. It captures the dramatic and emotional stories of iconic creatures in the wild, serving up humour, heartbreak and no small amount of tension.

Tsunami: Imapact Channel 5, Monday, 9pm

Raskha Dave and Dr Xand van Tulleken present this harrowing documentar­y, stripped over three nights, that offers a blow-by-blow account of the lead up to and aftermath of the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami that killed more than 250,000 people.

They begin 12 hours before the disaster.

Paralympic­s Opening Ceremony C4, Tues, 11.30am

The curtain goes up on the belated 2020 Paralympic Games and more than 300 hours coverage. Sports fans can sit back and enjoy an almost five-hour opening ceremony, during which we’ll be introduced to the nations taking part and can practice vocalising our support for Team GB.

When a body is found on a boat drifting in the Clyde, the case takes the team to the Isle of Bute. Small love tokens found at the crime scene nod towards a jilted lover, but as the team investigat­e further, a darker secret starts to emerge. Starring Nicola Walker.
