SAFC and NUFC to kick off at the same time as planned – 3pm on August 28. The two teams usually do not play home fixtures at the same time.

Andrew Neil: Will be fun and games especially on the metro and buses.

James Smith: Will it though? It’s not that close.

Andrew Thompson: Many fans from the likes of Brockley Whinns, South Shields, Jarrow and the likes go to either or. This is a recipe for mayhem.

Keiran Sanders: Can they tell Northern Rail to put on more than two carriages then! Madness plus Pools are at home too!!

Mark Rochester: I bet one of the games will be moved for the Sky cameras or Northumbria Police intervene due to lack of resources.

Gavin McGill: More likely the police as Sky Sports already have their games sorted on the Saturday and Sunday.

Steven Huntington: I can see the hourly two carriage Northern trains being overcrowded too, they didn't think about this when they decided to built the new station at Horden as Newcastle, Sunderland, Hartlepool and Middlesbrough are all playing at home with a 15:00 kick off. Prepare for the Durham Coast Line and the A19 to be manic.

Jimmy Fisher: No direct train to Sunderland early on Saturdays on the east coast main line so have to go to Newcastle now, we’ll done GNER.

Keith Varty: The metro will be worse than normal, could ease peoples travel by adding additional services but knowing them they will not do so.

Kevin Smith: Bank Holiday weekend when the rail network do maintenance. That's clever.

Andrew Thompson: Very strange and what is the betting the metro will be severely disrupted too.

Leah Bell: I'm definitely not going anywhere on the 28th then.

Michael Dunn: Fun and games on the northern rail with two carriages laid on.
