- THORBEN HOFFMANN

A tricky introduction. Little he could do about the goal and his distribution was largely sound, but unconvincing from set plays. 5

CARL WINCHESTER

Running power has been impressive and yielded that fine overlap to seal the winner. It was a nerveless finish, and another strong performance. Cult hero. 7

TOM FLANAGAN

Faced his toughest test of the season against an imposing forward line, but came through it and looked strong in the second half. 6

CALLUM DOYLE

One or two dangerous moments in possession that almost cost his side, but came through a tough battle well and showed his class at times. 6

DENNIS CIRKIN

His best defensive performance to date, capped with one stunning block to deny Accrington Stanley an equaliser in the second half. Very steady. 6

DAN NEIL

Got the goal his superb early form deserved. It was a stunner, too, leaving Trafford with no chance on his weaker foot. Another really strong performance. 7

LUKE O’NIEN

Energetic and battled well in midfield, covering a huge amount of ground. Just needs a little more composure in possession at times. 6

LYNDEN GOOCH

A constant threat with his dribbling and driving runs into the channel. Just couldn’t find the end product to turn some promising openings into a goal. 6

ELLIOT EMBLETON

Another impressive performance, regularly creating openings with his ability to spot a through ball. Unlucky not to register at least one assist. Should probably have scored when played through moments before he was withdrawn. 7

AIDEN MCGEADY

Quiet in the first half, often pushed back. Better in the second, and showed his composure to pick out Winchester for the winner. 7 ROSS STEWART

Ran the channels really well, constantly stretching the game. Not too many chances to get on the scoresheet himself and was denied well by Trafford from his only real opening. 7
