Made a number of good runs on his surprise return to the starting X I. Little sight of goal but his energy was a big part of how Sunderland played. 7

ROSS STEWART

Alongside Broad head he tormented the visiting defence, constantly making good runs in behind. Unselfish to the last, he could and arguably should have hadahat-trick.9
