Virgin Atlantic won’t hire new staff not fully vaccinated against Covid.

Ewan Mcintosh: Good set an exg ample!!! When your working directly with the public they blooming well should be.

Michelle Dixon: Don't see a problem with this policy at all, just hope other companies follow suit.

Jan L’Argent: I don't see a problem. When I worked in elderly care I wasn't given any choice about having a flu vaccine, I was just told "you have to have it" so I did. Flu vaccines are no more than 50% effective.

Annie Hart: Their choice, can you imagine people catching Covid and not being able to do their jobs leaving a shortage so people lose income.

Paul Stephenson: Good, hope others follow.

Caz Rae: Sorry but I don’t get it. The vaccine protects the person who has had it, not others. Having had the vaccine, you can still catch Covid and still carry Covid and as a result still transmit Covid to others, all the vaccine does is lessen the effects of Covid, thus make it less likely that you will need hospital treatment.

Valerie Robinson: And more likely to pass it on. If you get it you more than likely won’t know. I am staggered at the amount of people who want to live in a dictatorship.

Maria HD: Actually, the vaccine does reduce your risk of catching it, and therefore make you less likely to transmit it. Of course, you may well still catch it, but generally have a lower viral load, meaning it's less likely you'll pass it on to someone else. Having the vaccine is no guarantee, but it does reduce risks for the vaccinated person and people they come in contact with.

Sarah Gardiner: Discrimination.

Mandi Green: Ifyou want to do a job that requires you to fly to other countries that state people have to be vaccinated (most now), they have to be vaccinated. If their ground staff are not vaccinated it affects their insurance for them (as it does for airborne staff). Or should they hire and pay people to sit on their backsides at home? They are not a charity.
