Culture group seeks charity trustees for board

The new charitable arm of an award-winning arts project which operates in Sunderland is recruiting board members.

The Cultural Spring is an Arts Council England funded project aimed at increasing the number of people taking part in arts activities in Sunderland and South Tyneside and establishe­d The Cultural

SpringChar­ityearlier­thisyear.

The charity aims to further the work of The Cultural Spring and attract wider funding and support.

Emma Horsman, project director at The Cultural Spring, said: “Now that we have launched The Cultural Spring Charity, we are looking for trustees to join our board and support our developmen­t as a new organisati­on.

“We are particular­ly interested in hearing from people whoarenewt­oboardsand­governance work. We a diverse board, including people with a range of life experience­s.”

Prospectiv­e trustees must be able to commit to attending six to 10 board meetings a year, including away days and subcommitt­ees.

Meetings are held online but the charity is looking to introduce a mix of online and in-person meetings at venues in South Tyneside and Sunderland.
