Rosa can Sea a way to win at Lingfield

-

Sea La Rosa can graduate to Listed level in the Coral EBF River Eden Fillies' Stakes at Lingfield.

The three-year-old boasts some decent bits of juvenile form, not least when chasing home subsequent Group One winner Loving Dream last year, with the likes of dual Group winner Free Wind in behind on that run last December.

She kicked off this year with victory in a Chepstow novice and has been thereabouts in five runs since, winning at Redcar in August and Doncaster in September before William Haggas pitched her into Group Three company at Newmarket.

Beaten four and a half lengths, with the re-opposing Sayyida two lengths in front, Sea La Rosa just lacked an extra gear at the finish, so a slight move up in trip to a mile and five furlongs here could be a smart move.

She obviously has to find a bit more improvement to turn around form with Sayyida, but Sea La Rosa is proven on the all weather and could still be on the upgrade.

Maamora has not hit the target since August 2020, but her time can come in the other Listed feature on the card, the Coral EBF Fleur De Lys Fillies' Stakes.

The five-year-old won the Atalanta Stakes at Sandown last year, but she did not run again after that until eventually resurfacing when not beaten far in fifth at Goodwood - before finding the ground thoroughly against her on Derby day at Epsom.

Maamora has since shown up well in Listed heats at ParisLongchamp and Newmarket, with the concession of a good chunk of weight to a younger rival proving too big an ask on the latter occasion.

She holds all the aces here, judged on official ratings.

Modern News should make it a hat-trick in the MansionBet Beaten By A Head Handicap.

He looks a progressive runner, winning at Newmarket in July before defying a 6lb rise to follow up at Doncaster last month.

Charlie Appleby's inmate won by three-quarters of a length that day, limiting the handicapper to a 3lb rise which looks within his scope.

Hala Joud returned to winning form last month, and can go in again in the tote. co.uk Free Streaming Every UK Race Handicap at Chelmsford.

She won at Lingfield in June, but things had not gone her way in three subsequent starts before she came good again on her first try on Tapeta at Wolverhampton.

Jane Chapple-Hyam's charge picked up well when delivered with a late challenge, and a rise of 5lb may not be enough to anchor her.

Reserve Tank can make a successful return to fences in the Charlie Longsdon Racing Handicap Chase at Stratford.
