Colliers maintain a perfect start, while Dawdon stay in second place

Peterlee Catholic Club lost their 100 per cent record in the SSK Recruitmen­t Peterlee & District Sunday League last weekend, when defeat to Easington Colliery Welfare preserved their own perfect start to the Premier Division season.

The Welfare ran out comfortabl­e 4-2 winners thanks to a brace from striker Liam Cooke, along with efforts from Dennis Tapping and Dylan

Elliott.

Jack Pounder and Scott Thompson replied for the Catholic Club.

Dawdon Welfare Park remain second in the table after cruising to a 5-1 win over Seaham Marlboroug­h, with goals from Marc Ruddock (2), Robbie Bird, Tom Price and Denver Morris.

Luke Pearn and Connor Beeston were on target for Shotton Comrades when they won 2-0 against Easington Lane WMC, and Murton Colliery FC hammered struggling Horden JD’s Bar 11-0, with Josh Geenfield firing in a hat-trick and Liam Appleby a brace.

Two goals from Brandon Cook and a strike from Matthew Johnson helped South Hetton Cricket Club to a 3-3 draw against Easington Welfare.

In the First Division, a hattrick from Ryan Clish, a double from Rhys Turnbull plus an effort from Kieran Purvis saw Peterlee Helford United trounce Seaham Parkside 6-1.

Easington Victory beat Seaham Oddfellows Arms 6-0, with Ian Rickaby and Tom Williams both netting two apiece.

In Division Two, Adam Wallace’s five goals plus two from Dave Tasker saw Seaham the Knack hammer

Horden Labour Club 7-0, while Peterlee Acre Rigg Socialbeat­SeahamInnB­etween 4-2 thanks to a Ryan Clish hattrick.

Goals from John Dale, Tommy Lawson, Harry Winnwood and Jordan Stephenson enabled Wingate Howden to reach the next round of the First Division League Cup as they beat Easington Southside 4-3, while Easington Mechanics progressed at the expense of Roseberry Park.

In the Second Division League Cup, a brace from Alex Langley and a strike from Ethan Cain saw Peterlee Hearts defeat Peterlee United 3-1, while a goal from Michael Bayles gave East Durham an aggregate win against Seaham Park. Rob Lewis hit four in Haswell Oddfellows Arms’ 5-3 win over Peterlee Inclusion FC in the George Ivey Memorial Cup.
