Horden Will hand us a tough test – they’re a good side, says Hassan

-

Willington manager Ibby Hassan believes Horden CW will provide a “tough test” for his side on Saturday.

The Hall Lane outfit will travel to Welfare Park looking to extend their unbeaten run to a fifth game following last weekend’s underwhelming goalless draw with struggling Bedlington Terriers.

Former Whitby Town defender Hassan is keen to move on from the disappointment of not beating a side that have claimed only four wins in their 20 league games - but is preparing himself for a challenge against Horden.

He said: “We were very disappointed not to beat Bedlington Terriers last week after dominating the game, but our goal touch deserted us.

“That said, we did extend our unbeaten run to four games, but we know we are in for a tough test at Horden.

“They are a good footballing side, but so are we, so it should be a good game between two old Northern League rivals.”

Horden are without injured trio Jak Colledge, Olly Hotchkiss and Josh Broom for the game.

Hassan is expected to hand a recall to experienced defender Daryll Hall after

Matty Lovegreen was ruled out of the game with a hamstring injury, and Morghan Claydon will undergo a fitness test.

Tow Law Town’s home game with Esh Winning gets the Division Two action under way tonight and the hosts are boosted by the return of striker Lewis Teasdale.

Durham City go looking for their first win of the season when they host Blyth Town, and Washington return to action with a trip to Teesside to face Redcar Town.

The top two in the table meet at Grounsell Park as leaders Heaton Stannington host second-placed Newcastle University.

Jarrow will have new signing Kieron Gohery available for their Perth Green meeting with Ryton and Crawcrook Albion, and top scorer Kurtis Howes will miss Billingham Synthonia’s home clash with Birtley Town.

The suspended Niall McGoldrick misses Easington Colliery’s trip to Brandon United, and Chester-leStreet Town will hope to avenge their FA Vase exit at the hands of Carlisle City when the two sides meet at Moor Park.
