It is estimated that the e-scooter journeys have eliminated 10 tonnes of CO2 emissions.

Clive Ketley: Good to see they are being used but I would like to see the facts behind the findings. For instance if the user would have taken the bus and the bus has not been taken off the route then there is no reduction in carbon. It only works if we are opting not to take a personal vehicle.

Kevin Leary: Most journeys I have seen have been young people scooting along the seafront, perfectly capable of walking. Not convinced by these PR figures.

Paul Hutchinson: These things have not been used instead of cars for commuting they have been used for recreation instead of walking in the vast vast majority of cases.

Graham Hall: What is the carbon footprint to manufacture the scooters and to keep recharging them? What will happen when the worlds limited supply of lithium for the batteries runs out?

Roland Craggs: You can hire one from the council, but you can't ride your own."You will own nothing and you will be happy". Imagine how many tonnes would be saved if people could own and ride one.

Jonathan Belassie: Don’t believe it. How many peoples lives have they endangered in order to save 10 tonnes?

Ross Mullen: How does taking an e-scooter instead of walking help the environment?

Stanton Longhorn: How much did it use to make them in the first place though, the batteries and what emissions producing and delivering electric for charging. CO2 is a much needed gas that makes the planet survive.

Martin Unsworth: It takes a taxi three to four years to do those miles and these scooters have only been around or dumped for about a year.

Philip Pescod: All plants breathe in CO2 and breath out oxygen, is this another weapon by the NWO to depopulate the planet?

Darren Foster: Just walk, save even more.

Lee Harnett: Good news.
