Silksworth CW manager Jamie Cole believes competition for places is keeping his squad on their toes.

Cole’s side travel to Norton and Stockton Ancients this weekend looking to claim a third consecutive win that could take them into the top six of the Wearside League table.

The Silksworth boss has a number of selection issues ahead of the game - but he is not complaining as he travels to Teesside with a strong squad at his disposal.

He told The Echo: “We are looking to continue our winning ways but, as I said last week, we still have a lot of work to do.

“We had the rare pleasure of having some real headaches with team selection.

“But it’s keeping the lads on their toes and that can only be a positive for us.”

Jamie Talbot, Niall Crosby and Elliott Tench will be the only absentees from Cole’s squad.

Farringdon Detached finally return to action after a three-week break when they host in-form FC Hartlepool at Leyburn Grove.

Liam Lay’s side remain in close proximity to the top five in the table despite their period of inaction and could move as high as fourth place with a win on Saturday.

Fourth placed Durham Corinthians are without suspended duo Cameron Arthurs and Harry Spence as they prepare to host Shildon

Reserves.

The visitors will be under the control of new management team Wayne Gredziak and Steven West for the first time.

There is a top three clash

at Eastbourne Sports Complex as Darlington Town entertain Gateshead Leam Rangers and bottom of the table Coxhoe Athletic visit Shotton Colliery.

Washington United are

without Alex Gudgeon (suspended), Mark Parvin and Jordan Lee (both unavailable) for their game away at Wolviston.

However, United are boosted by the return of Aidan

Mutch, Matty Rowan and Reece Hood ahead of their visit to Teesside.

Windscale will be the visitors to Derwent Park as they face Annfield Plain and Darlington RA welcome West

Auckland Tunns to Brinkburn Road.

There is one cup tie this weekend as Chester-le-Street United host Richmond Town in the second round of the Alan Hood Charity Cup.
