Easington Colliery have confirmed the severity of an injury suffered by midfielder Luke Page that caused the abandonment of their Northern League Division Two game at Blyth Town on Saturday.

The Colliers were a goal behind as the midway-point of the first-half approached.

However, the game was brought to an early end when the former Dunston UTS player was injured.

Page was taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg and the club confirmed that was the case in a statement released via their social media on Saturday evening.

It read: “Following an Xray, it has been confirmed that Luke Page has broken his right tibia and fibula and it requires surgery which will be done tomorrow.

“The club will support Pagey through his recovery from this awful injury.”

Elsewhere on Saturday, a dramatic injury-time equaliser prevented Sunderland West End from taking all three points from their visit to in-form Boldon CA.

Lewis Charlton fired West End in front just after the half-hour mark.

However, an equaliser in the seventh minute of addedon time, from Boldon’s Sean Caffrey, ensured the spoils were shared.

Channon North scored five times as Jarrow condemned bottom-of-the-table Durham City to their fourth

double-figure defeat of the season with a 10-0 win at Perth Green.

Nick Little was also on target with a brace, while there were also single strikes from Brian Johnson, Glen Hargrave

and Gary Shaw, as Dave Bell and Scott Oliver’s side eased to a comfortable victory and three welcome points.

Scott Johnson scored twice and Reece Brown also found the net as Brandon

United claimed a 3-0 victory against a Bedlington Terriers side that played with 10 men for 65 minutes followed a red card shown to goalkeeper Nathan Harker.

A late brace from former

Whitley Bay and Blyth Spartans striker Ash Davis helped Willington to a 4-2 home win against Ryton & Crawcrook Albion.

Two goals from Regan Nixon were not enough to prevent Esh Winning from falling to a 4-2 home defeat against Billingham Synthonia.

A Max Craggs brace and a goal apiece from Mason McNeill and Kurtis Howes gave the visitors a win.
