THORBEN HOFFMANN

Didn’t look to be a great deal he could about Norwood’s goal. Just about got through a barrage of set-pieces and distributed well enough. 6 BAILEY WRIGHT

Between himself and Flanagan, Norwood perhaps shouldn't have been able to get up to score the opener, but generally solid. 6

TOM FLANAGAN

Some nervous moments in possession during the first half as Ipswich applied a lot of pressure with their high pressing. Came through it and had a decent second half. 6

CALLUM DOYLE

Came through another stern, physical challenge. Much steadier in the second half and tried to play out when he could. 6

LEON DAJAKU

Was struggling to get into the game through the first half hour as Ipswich dominated and pushed the visitors back to the edge of their box. Looked to have picked up a nasty injury just before half-time. 5

CARL WINCHESTER

Sunderland’s best player in the first half, tenacious and willing to show for the ball when too many struggled to make an impact. Found the second half tougher going. 6

DAN NEIL

Looked to be having a rare off day through the first 50 minutes, before producing a wonderful nutmeg and through ball to release Broadhead for the equaliser. Strong thereafter. 6

LYNDEN GOOCH

Exposed early on as Ipswich found a lot of joy in the space behind him. Looked much stronger when brought across to the right after Dajaku’s injury, and dug in to help his side get a point. 6 ALEX PRITCHARD

Couldn’t get into the game at all in the first half, Sunderland seeing little of the ball and even less of it in the advanced areas where he can make an impact. 5

NATHAN BROADHEAD

Took his goal superbly, a composed and utterly nerveless finish when played through on goal by Neil. Caused Ipswich a lot of problems through the second half. 6

ROSS STEWART

Plenty of application, but just couldn't quite get the finish in the rare moments a chance fell to him. Never stopped running. 6

SUBS

Denver Hume. 6 Elliot Embleton. 6 Aiden O’Brien. 6
