Plans to transform Seaburn’s old tram shelter into a high-end delicatessen and eatery have been given the green light

Gilly Stanley: Great news, looking forward to seeing this open.

Jemma Comrie: Can’t wait to see how amazing it’s going to look and can get our Blacks Corner fix after a beach walk.

Paul Jefferson: Blimey do we need another eating outlet, I think we need keep what we have, a much needed shelter.

Gareth Davies: Great news, Blacks Corner is a superb, cosy, very well ran restaurant and they will turn this into a gorgeous place to spend time and maintain the tradition of the structure.

Paul Cockburn: Great news. The seafront is improving step by step.

Graeme Wharton:

Great addition to the seafront, and a great use of something that doesn't get used, look forward to the revamp.

Jackie Thompson:

Doesn't matter what is proposed certain people just moan moan moan.

Stuart Porthouse: That’s excellent news, developing an unused shelter into something useful, well done.

Claire Jones: I’m all for the Tram Shelter being renovated, although as far as I can see they haven’t yet been explicit about the plans, but Blacks Corner? Over priced and underwhelming as far as I’m concerned.

Caitlin Newby: I think this is disgusting bearing in mind a lot of homeless people use this shelter on a night to sleep while hiding from the wind, rain and snow.

Jamie Mclaren: Hopefully this eyesore will be pulled down and replaced with a modern building with good parking facilities along the sea front.

Shaun Carroll: It's historic keep it that way, why destroy all our history. Some people go on city breaks all over Europe to see history.

Paul Green: The building has been decrepit for years. Pleased to see it put to good use.
