Catholic Club show their mettle against Iron Horse in shootout
Peterlee Catholic Club were stretched all the way before going on to reach the fourth round of the Durham County Sunday Cup, beating Newton Aycliffe Iron Horse 6-5 on penalties after the two sides finished 90 minutes at 3-3.
ReeceKenney,Josh-Home Jackson and Oliver Hotchkiss all netted during open play for the Catholic Club before going on to win the tie in a spot-kick shootout.
In the George Ivey Memorial Cup, Peterlee Acre Rigg Social reached the semifinals after an aggregate quarter-final match against Seaham the Knack, winning on penalties. Phil Robinson, Jim Edmundson and Graeme Ashcroft scored for the Peterlee outfit in normal time.

Park to shade a hard-fought contest, winning 2-1 against Easington Mechanics, whose scorer was Tom Bott.
In the Heart Foundation Cup, a strike from Luke Thompson was not enough for Murton Colliery as they lost 5-1 to Coxhoe Red Lion.
The John & Pat McManus Memorial Cup saw two games take place, Easington CIU finishing 2-2 against Sherburn United, thanks to a double from Tom Williams, and progressing after winning a shootout and Easington Lane WMC and Easington Welfare finishing tied at 3-3, with Welfare going through on penalties.
In the SSK Recruitment Peterlee and District Sunday LeaguePremierDivision,Easington Colliery Welfare were taken to the limit by South HettonCricketClub,winning 3-2, with substitute Simon Todd scoring a hat-trick to keeptheir100%recordintact.
