Cole confident skeleton Silksworth can take revenge on Windscale

-

Silksworth CW manager Jamie Cole admits his side are aiming for revenge when they make the long trip to Windscale this weekend.

Cole’s men will return to action in the Wearside League for the first time since a narrow 1-0 home win against Washington United two weeks ago, when they visit the Falcon Complex on Saturday.

They head to Cumbria with a dismal display in their last meeting with the Atoms still fresh in the mind after they suffered a 5-1 defeat in an Alan Hood Charity Cup tie in November.

Cole admitted he has a number of injury problems to contend with ahead of the game.

But the Silksworth manager is determined to avenge that poor display and result from earlier this season.

He told The Echo: “It’s a skeleton squad once again and that seems to be the way of working at Windscale.

“We have a team and one substitute for the game.

"But it’s a strong team so I am hoping we can go there, get the job done and tick off the visit for another season.

“We owe them one after our last visit when they walloped us with a 5-1 win.

“It was a bit of a kick in the teeth not playing last

week but we are both in the same boat because their game was called off for high winds too.”

Farringdon Detached return to action for the first time since their heavy defeat at Darlington Town when

they entertain Richmond Town.

Liam Lay’s side will be without midfielder Connor Gales as he serves a twomatch ban for the red card he received at Eastbourne Sports Complex.

League leaders Chesterle-Street Town will hope to extend their lead at the top of the table with a win at Shildon Reserves, as they stand two points ahead of Darlington Town and three in front of Gateshead Leam Rangers, who are both in cup action.

Two sides in the bottom five meet at Brinkburn Road as Darlington RA host Washington United.

The bottom two clubs are set to face off at Beechfield Park as Coxhoe Athletic entertain Norton and Stockton Ancients.

There are two Durham Trophy ties this weekend as Gateshead Leam Rangers visit Darlington Town and Wolviston host in-form Durham Corinthians.
