ANTHONY PATTERSON
Made one or two very good saves and just about came through a stern examination on set pieces. 6
TRAI HUME
Put in a couple of excellent early crosses which showed his quality, but was a little tentative at times and showed his inexperience occasionally. 5
BAILEY WRIGHT
Made a very assured return to the side, not putting a foot wrong defensively in a solid showing. 7
CALLUM DOYLE
Punished with a very harsh handball decision, when he was at best a yard away from the ball.
Solid otherwise, keeping it simple and effective. 6
DENNIS CIRKIN
Crossing was mixed and battled well, without any major impact in the final third. 5 CARL WINCHESTER
Given a brief to be disciplined and sit in front of the back for and shore up the side.
Tidy enough without making a significant impact. 5
DAN NEIL
Improved as the game went on and played some nice passes, but is clearly lacking confidence and missing that snap in his game from earlier this season. 5
JAY MATETE
Full of clever turns and made some excellent driving runs. Not shy of a challenge and is fast going to become a fan favourite. Excellent today. 7
ALEX PRITCHARD
Kept his side in it with that outstanding free kick.
By far his side’s best attacking outlet, but did not get to show it often enough from a wideleft position. 7
JACK CLARKE
Showed plenty of industry and was always there to support Hume defensively, but had very little opportunity to create something and show his quality in the final third. 5
ROSS STEWART
Left too isolated throughout the first half, with no sight of goal. A slight dip in confidence betrayed him when Pritchard played him through early in the second, a poor touch allowing the defence to recover. 5 Substitutes
CORRY EVANS
Tidy with little chance to make an impact. 5
JERMAIN DEFOE
Sprung Patrick Roberts free with one excellent pass, but otherwise had very little sight of goal again. 5
PATRICK ROBERTS
One or two runs looked like they might yield a result but quiet overall. 5
